The class of 2023 in North Carolina has been fun to watch, as several players have seen their stock rise tremendously from the end of the high school season until now. Many players have been playing extremely well this summer but these four players have really seen their recruitment continue to take off; some of the hottest targets for many college coachse.

Freddie Dilione – 6’5 – Word of God
There might not be a player that has seen his stock rise with college programs more than 2023 Freddie Dilione. But when you watch him and his play this high school season and summer, it is easy to see why. Dilione has proven to be a gamechanger on the court, impacting the game in a variety of ways, scoring the ball extremely well, and filling up the stat sheet. It seems like almost every day, Dilione added a new high-major offer with the latest ones coming from UConn, Georgia, Indiana, Alabama, Texas A&M, Rutgers, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Tennessee, NC State, and several others in the last month.
Mayar Wol – 6’8 – Moravian Prep
The other player that may be in the discussion with Dilione as one of the fastest-rising players with coaches has been Wol. He had an excellent high school season and has only continued as well as developed his game even more, as the 6’8 wing is showing his full arsenal in his game. Using his size, stepping out from the perimeter, creating for himself, showing his athleticism… There is a lot to like. Wol has added offers from Mississippi State, St. John’s, Appalachian State, Rutgers, Georgia, Ole Miss, and several others, as he racked up double-digit offers quickly. It is crazy to think how much he has grown and how big his stock has risen since Phenom Hoops was one of the first to talk about Wol in 2020. (Click Here)

James Scott – 6’9 – Seventy-First
In a matter of a year, when we first spoke about Scott as a player to keep an eye on until today, the 6’9 junior forward has added multiple offers. Before it all started, Scott was a player that was based on potential and development. And it seems that things have been clicking for the young man, getting stronger, showing to be more effective offensively, and displaying his impact on both ends of the floor as not only an offensive weapon but an impact on the boards and defensive end. It is why schools have continued to monitor the young man, with schools like College of Charleston, Loyola-Chicago, Georgia State, Ohio, and others have all offered already.
Michael Nwoko – 6’9 – The Burlington School
Nwoko came into North Carolina and made an immediate presence. The Canadian big man went to The Burlington School and quickly made a name for himself with his strong presence, his power at the rim, his strength and ability to bully down in the paint, and his ability to be all over the boards. And with a year under his belt at TBS, his game only continued to grow. That is why schools like UCSB, Northwestern, Boston College, Texas A&M, Georgetown, North Carolina A&T, Creighton, and others have all entered the race for this dominating big man.
