Antonee Abraham 'Dropping Dimes'

Coach Mike Wright has something special brewing at Liberty Heights. They are currently 2-0 and had an even more impressive 76-60 win over a very talented Piedmont Classical team at the Carmel Christian Tip Off Classic sponsored by Phenom Hoops. Leading the way has been the 1-2 scoring punch of 6'9 Tay Williams and 6'6''Kahari Rogers. However, with any good team, the success often comes from the floor general who sets and controls the tone and pace of the game. In addition, Antonee Abraham has the speed and quickness to get where he wants, when he wants.'

While 6'0-point guard Antonee Abraham won't grab the headlines in the scoring column, but his ability to get his teammates in scoring positions with precise and timely passes is the straw that stirs the drink. In the two wins this past week, Abraham is averaging 8.5 assists per game to only 1.5 turnovers per game.''That's almost a 6:1 assist to turnover ratio.'

In speaking with coach Wright, he stated the following. 'Antone Abraham is a great person off the court and his work ethic is unmatched.'Abraham understands that he is the floor general and the team needs him to be really good Antonee always say my job is to get my teammates going! Abraham season last year was cut short do to having surgery on his wrist when he took a hard fall against Huntington Prep! Abraham goal is to lead the state in assists this year. He is off to a good start getting 8 assists on'last Tuesday and 9 assists against Piedmont Classical.'

We currently have Liberty Heights as one of the top 10 teams in our recent poll which includes public, private and independent schools. For coach Wright, he has a gem in Antonee Abraham. He has a “team first” passer friendly point guard that is more satisfied with making an assist than anything else on the court and when that happens and your surrounded by good talent and excellent coaching, you have a winning formula.
