Alexander has been on the radar since he participated in the prestigious 2014 North Carolina Top 80. That following summer he played in the U17 Division Under Armour Circuit as a freshman. Ever since then Alexander has maintained his status among national top 100 rankings.

Alexander averaged 16 points and 6 assists per game as he played his freshman year at Concord High School. Just after the start of his sophomore year he then transferred to Oak Hill Academy, where he remains.

Alexander visited Creighton this weekend, and decided to end his recruitment before it really got started. Even though it was in its infancy, Alexander did carry offers from Charlotte, Clemson, and Virginia Tech.

Alexander is ranked anywhere from 50-108 in the various national rankings. ESPN has him at 50, Rivals has him at 86, and 247 Sports has him at 108. He is a versatile player, who has a frame close to what it will be in college. He has a smooth shot off the catch and a dogged mentality on defense. Alexander has good length and vision on the wing.

Over the summer, Alexander was Team Charlotte’s best player. Team Charlotte won the 17U division of the Under Armour Circuit and Alexander was also playing up an age group.

Alexander has come to multiple NC Phenom events through the years, let’s see what was written:

2014 North Carolina Top 80
#48 6’4 TyShon Alexander of Concord HS

TyShon has already garnished attention from high major collegiate programs and it was no surprise that he was one of the top vote getters from the high school coaches in attendance. Not to mention, his player evaluation from his high school coach graded out as one of the highest in the camp. Coach Russ Frazier stated, “ TyShon has excellent basketball IQ. He hustles on every play and will be a very good player at the highest level. TyShon was a very good team player who makes all the other players on the team better.” For only a freshman, we were equally impressed with his unbelievable attitude and work ethic. Simply put, TyShon was one of the top players in camp and also was one of the hardest working players. That alone is a winning formula at any level!

Fall 2014 NC Phenom 150 Exposure Camp
#34 6’4 2017 TyShon Alexander of Northside Christian (NC)

TyShon came into camp having already picked up some pretty high accolades. He played, and started, throughout the summer on Team Charlotte’s 17U team and is an alum of the prestigious NC Top 80 event. TyShon did nothing in this camp to disappoint as he displayed an all around skill set that showed his comfort playing both on and off the ball. TyShon’s Camp Coach Marlon Brim stated, “TyShon may be the best guard in the entire camp. As the team needed, he played equally well as the point guard or the shooting guard today.” Already boasting BCS level offers, the sky is the limit for TyShon’s ability as he continues to track as a Top 50 type player.

2015 Phenom Hoops Open Gym Tour – Oak Hill Academy (VA)
6’4 Jr. Ty-Shon Alexander

Ty-Shon Alexander has worked on his perimeter game and he continued his hot shooting streak from this past summer. Should be Oak Hill’s most consistent perimeter shooter this season. He will play the off guard position for Oak Hill this season, but does have the ability to transition into the PG position at the next level. Alexander won’t overwhelm you with flash but will provide a rocky steady approach to the game this season.
