First you notice the length, it really stands out for the 6'5' guard. However, once you start watching Hamilton Heights senior Nickeil Alexander-Walker you see there is so much more to his game.

Already averaging over 15 points per game for the Top 15 team in the country. He is ranked among the nation's Top 50 prospects by most national services, and he is committed to Coach Buzz Williams and Virginia Tech. With this type of resume, to say Alexander-Walker is under the radar may be a stretch, but in our eyes it is safe to say that (without question) his best basketball is ahead of him.

Alexander-Walker's game is subtle, he doesn't play above the rim (although he can get there) nor does he have a ridiculous handle (but he never turns it over). However, what he does do is play mistake free, efficient basketball, at a high level.

For starters, Alexander-Walker is a lock down perimeter defender, if he wasn't Buzz Williams would not have anything to do with him. He is able to sit down and guard the ball or step back and really wreak havoc in the passing lanes. Deflections, steals, blocks Alexander-Walker accumulates them nightly, at a high rate.

Offensively, the best way to describe Alexander-Walker is efficient. He has a pure jump shot, which he equally comfortable getting off 1 and 2 dribble pull ups or squared up off the catch. He plays within himself, always, and he makes the people around him better.

When looking at possibly comparisons toward Alexander-Walkers game he has the look of a Courtney Lee type of player, the epitome of a high level 3 and D player. He is very solid all around and will win a lot of ball games because he defends and makes a lot of shots.

You don't want to miss Nickeil Alexander-Walker December 27-30 at Phenom's Joe Miller Invitational. He will be a player who gets better every year he is in college, ending up as someone who will get a very strong look at a long career at the next level.

Hamilton Heights will play Top 30 2018 prospect Saint James, who also features Top 60 2018 prospect Bryce Golden, on Showcase Tuesday (December 27) and then follow up with Blue Ridge and Clemson signee Aamir Simms. There are no nights off for this Top 15 team.
