Akia Pruitt, a 6-7 forward from RJ Reynolds, has picked up two offers this AAU season with his solid play for Team Winston. Mount Olive was the first to offer back in May and now the young man picked up an offer from Wingate Tuesday.

Phenom Hoops caught up with assistant coach Patrick McCarthy from RJ Reynolds to get know a little bit more about Pruitt, who could be the next program to offer, and what has the young man been working on when not competing with Team Winston.

PH: We wanted to reach out to you coach to talk about Akia Pruitt and his latest offer.

McCarthy: Yes, he has ben working very hard. He is going to make a staff very happy.

PH: Congrats to him on the offer. Has he been hearing from any other programs about his recruitment'

McCarthy: A few others… Western Carolina in my opinion could be the next Division I to offer.

PH: That is great to hear. Glad to see he is getting attention from schools. What has the coaches been saying they like about the young man'

McCarthy: They love his ability to run the floor, the fact he can post up or face up and times blocks great. He is a full package kind of kid.

PH: What has he been working on this offseason as a player'

McCarthy: Extending his offensive game… He wants to be able to be a knockd down three point shooter and also building muscle mass and getting stronger.

PH: What do you see him being able to provide at the next level'

McCarthy: He is a true example of the modern stretch four. He spaces the floor, runs it with ease. I think he will be a Chris Bosh style of player.
