6’2 Mike Green of Myrtle Beach, SC has been a regular over the years at the NC Junior Phenom camp. He has always amazed us with his high basketball IQ, knowledge of the game and overall skill set. Without question, Mike may be the most fundamentally sound players in the country for his class. He is a high level player that will you be hearing more about in high school and in college.
Two years ago, we stated, “Mike is one of the most solid all around players at camp regardless of class. He exhibited a great attitude and work ethic that made him so coachable. Mike’s decision-making and basketball IQ are advanced beyond his years. He is a true floor general and leader on the court. His shooting mechanics are tremendous for his age/grade and can use either hand effective and efficiently. He has all the intangibles to be a truly outstanding player in high school and beyond.”
Fast forward to the CP3 Rising Stars camp and Mike did nothing but enhance his personal basketball resume. He made the CP3 Rising Stars Top 40 game and showcased why he will be name mentioned in the national conversation for the next four years. While he doesn’t possess elite level athleticism, Mike is a true basketball player. The lefty has a silky smooth shooting touch and has the ability to create his own shot off the dribble. While he can score at will, he takes a team approach to the game. He’s unselfish and gets others involved and simply makes others around him better.
Off the court, he is an amazing young man. He’s a good student and model citizen. When speaking with Mike, he is always respectful and gracious in his mannerisms. He answers questions with a “yes/no sir” and is always polite in his conversation. While he is advanced beyond his years on the basketball court, he carries himself with maturity.
