The season is coming to an end for so many, but that doesn’t mean we can’t continue to highlight players around the region and we have our eye on an eighth grader who has been exceeding expectations this season in leading her high school team.

Down in South Carolina, there is a player you will want to learn about quickly. 2030 Lailah Singletary from Irmo (SC) has been putting on a show this year, and clearly is putting her name out there early as one of the top prospects in the state for her class. Again, AS AN EIGHTH GRADER, Singletary just earned Region 4-5A Player of the Year and is nearly averaging 25 points per game on varsity…

She is proving to be a dynamic guard on the court, Singletary is thriving all over the floor with her impact, whether that is offensively or defensively. She has an uncanny ability to score the basketball from all levels, showcasing a confident shot as well as the ability to weave and create around defenders. But whether it is scoring or facilitating, Singletary seems to have her hands on the team’s success, filling up the statsheet.

Just looking at the highlights below, one can see that she has an incredible feel for the game and plays the game not only the right way, but also at a high level. It is easy to see that Singletary is going to be a name that many will be hearing down the road in the near future, as college programs will be taking notice as well.
