Today’s 5 to Know
Bojangles Bash – Friday
Always a fun trip down to the Bojangles Bash, who year after year is becoming one of the must see high school hoops events throughout the country. Columbia, South Carolina is becoming a hot bed for great atmospheres as they are showing if there is talent to be see, the people will show up.
Friday night was no different. The DJ had the entire crowd rocking. The play on the floor was spectacular as numerous national level guys were making great plays. With teams from South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia, Maryland and Canada playing here are the guys who had the most outstanding nights…

6’8” ’18 Ignas Brazdeikis (Michigan)
Orangeville Prep (CAN)
Yet again, Brazdeikis proved to be one of the most natural scorers in the 2018 class. The lefty finishes effortlessly against all comers at all three levels. Brazdeikis has great touch and plays with an unbelievable swagger, confident against everyone. Look for him to put up big numbers, immediately, at Michigan.
Stat Line: 37 points (12-24 FG / 10-14 FT), 9 rebounds, 2 steals

6’8” 2019 Joey Baker (Duke)
Trinity Christian (Fayetteville, NC)
Baker is ranked as a 5-star prospect across the board, in this one he showed why. Baker showed to be a great shot maker here. What really stood out was his footwork and patience to get to his spots. Baker has good, straight line athleticism and deft touch extending beyond the 3-point line. He continues to get better each time out and is very well liked among other prospects. Look for him to make a mark at Duke.
Stat Line: 32 points (10-16 FG/2-3 3P/10-10 FT)

6’6” 2019 Mike Christmas
Huntington Prep (WV)
Christmas has a unique game, previously showing well as a iso-type scorer with good stuff in the mid range. In this one he showed he could be very efficient within the half court flow. Always a shot maker at multiple levels, Christmas showed deep touch off the catch and shoot and explosion at the rim in transition. Christmas just picked up an Oregon offer, that level should continue as he is a borderline top 100 type player.
Stat Line: 22 points (8-14 FG/6-10 3P), 6 rebounds

6’7” 2020 Matthew Alexander Moncrieffe
Orangeville Prep (CAN)
Alexander Moncrieffe has all the makings of a future 5-star Top 25 prospect. He is tough, he has great length, he is athletic and plays with a great pace and skill set. Alexander Moncrieffe plays an efficient game, on both ends of the floor. Watch closely, by the time it’s all said and done, he should get recruited by every school across the country.
State Line: 13 points (6-10 FG), 13 rebounds

6’ 2019 Walyn Napper
Ridge View (Columbia, SC)
Napper is a tough-minded point guard who plays a smooth game. He has a great feel on the ball, but where he sticks out is his rebounding and defense. Napper has great anticipation in the passing lanes and is a tough rebounder from the guard spot. Offensively, he gets into the paint well and he has good vision and the trust of his coach to run the team. It will be fun to see where his recruitment falls, but no question he could wind up a Division 1 prospect.
Stat Line: 17 Points (7-13 FG/2-3 3P), 7 Rebounds, 7 Assists, 2 Steals
