There is no doubt about it… There are plenty of topics rolling out from a jam-packed weekend at the Phenom Lakesgiving, including on the girl’s side.  The talent on the court was quite impressive, with so many storylines coming from the event.  One of those storylines has to be the play of 2028 6’1 Finley Sherrill from Lake Norman, as she clearly proved that she is going to be a big-time target for many schools in the coming years.

Sherrill was impressive to say the least… she was incredibly productive, impacted the game in a variety of ways, and showcased a tremendous feel with her skillset.  When talking about her game, she is one who has great size at her age and shows she can be a versatile player with her mobility, skillset, and comfort in so many areas of the floor.  She operates well around the basket, displaying quickness, feel, and instincts on the glass that allow her to fill up the stat sheet.  Sherrill also does a great job in moving from multiple positions, scoring in a variety of ways, running the floor, showing range with her shot, and being able to defend multiple positions as well.  It was clear that she was one of the top players at the event, and her recruitment should only continue to grow.

We spoke to her after the event, asking about her focus and more about her game in her eyes.

“My focus has been to play a bigger role on my team and to become more of a leader,” she told Lady Phenom.  “I would describe my game as versatile because I can play and guard multiple positions. I bring effort and a good motor to the court.”

As far as recruitment, she holds offers from Murray State, Cornell, Navy, Appalachian State, Furman, and Elon, but several others are starting to get involved including schools from the A-10, Ivy League, and ACC.

What Was Said:

“2028 Finley Sherrill (Lake Norman) has been really good all weekend long. Super productive, active in the paint and finishes well, but also comfortable along the perimeter. Can play and guard multiple positions.”

“2028 6’1 Finley Sherrill (Lake Norman) has been every bit of her listed height on the glass. She’s protected the basket well, shown the ability to defend on the perimeter when needed, and knocked down shots confidently as a floor spacer. A name college coaches will want continue to track.”
