The Phenom HS Jamboree was an off-the-charts weekend, giving us scouts and fans a chance to preview what teams may look like this upcoming season. It provided a lot of intel early on, including early title contenders, surprising teams, and programs to watch in the future. One thing is for sure, though, getting a chance to watch Forsyth Country Day this past weekend… this is a team that looks ready and geared up to compete/take home a title this season.
This is a roster that has everything you need to secure a title, whether it is experienced guards, mobile/fluid bigs, shot-makers, or depth. Here are the players that you will be seeing a lot this season for the FCDS:
2026 Q Williams
2027 JR Adams
2026 Max Van Weerdhuizen
2027 Jayon Connor
2026 Prince Nwokemodo
2026 Tyrin Graham
2028 AD Dalton
2027 Chris Gomez
2027 Adam Horobey
The experienced guard play was tremendous and will be huge for this team. 2026 Q Williams and 2027 JR Adams understand what is needed of them with this team and under Coach Esleck. They will be able to playmakers and true scoring threats with the ball in their hands. Then you have 2026 Max Van Weerdhuizen who is a tough, scrappy guard that can finish strong as well as provide a perimeter threat. The same can be said about 2026 Tyrin Graham, who should be a strong piece in providing depth and shot-making. 2027 Chris Gomez is another high-IQ guard that will be used in a variety of ways and can come in to provide depth and a spark.
Then you look at the size that this team will offer… 2026 Prince Nwokemodo is a 6’11 big man that brings mobility, shot-blocking, and scoring presence around the rim. He will be a huge difference-maker on either side of the ball in controlling the paint. 2027 Jayon Connor will be another big piece with his size, versatility, athleticism, and offensive impact, as he has a chance to see his stock rise in a big way. 2028 AD Dalton returns to provide depth, physicality, and size, as this is a team that will be able to rotate minutes throughout.
When watching this team at the Jamboree, they made a clear statement that they have one goal and only one goal in mind… to win a state title. The energy they brought, the balanced and depth they have, and overall experience will have the Furies in the discussion as the top team in the state.
