Team 17

Coach: Jay Anderson

#43: 5’9 ’29 James Garland (West Forsyth)

Starting off, James Garland is a 5-foot-9 prospect in the Class of 2029. Despite being one of the smaller and younger campers on this team, he highlighted a variety of intriguing flashes. Garland is a steady offensive threat who can touch the paint and score within the flow of the action. However, he’s arguably even more problematic for opponents with his defensive prowess. Garland is a quick, scrappy defender who does a great job of containing opposing guards. Next in his development process is working to improve his rebounding presence, as it would allow him to immediately push the break in transition. Coach Anderson on Garland: “James took it upon himself to defend at a high level. Showed poised as a two-way guard who can do more than just score. James proved that he could force turnovers and be a force on the defensive end of the floor.” Garland proved to be an asset during camp and has the tools to emerge as a key piece for West Forsyth.

#48: 5’10 ’29 Jaxon Brim (West Forsyth)

Next, Jaxon Brim is a 5-foot-10 prospect in the Class of 2029. Though young, it’s easy to appreciate his skillset and array of intangibles. Brim is a smart, well-rounded guard who can initiate the offense or play without the ball. He’s a useful creator for himself and others, but is arguably even better as a spot-up threat. Brim is a willing passer and scrappy defender who competes with consistent energy on both ends of the floor. Next in his development process is working on getting stronger, as it would make him a better finisher through contact. Coach Anderson on Brim: “Jaxon is a confident combo guard who showed off his consistency shooting the ball from the perimeter; all he needed was a little bit of space to show off his range. Good teammate. Plays with nice energy.” Brim enjoyed a quality showing at camp and will be one to watch emerge for West Forsyth.

#108: 6’1 ’28 Colinn Morris (Grace Christian)

Next, Colinn Morris is a 6-foot-1 prospect in the Class of 2028. He’s an incredibly smart, unselfish point guard who provides a very steady presence on both ends of the floor. Morris dictates the action with poise and patience. He takes care of the ball, breaks down opponents off the bounce, and sees the floor really well as a passer. Morris scores as needed, but primarily looks to create for others. He’s also a pesky defender and capable rebounder who competes with consistent energy at all times. Next in his development process is working on the use of his off-hand, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Anderson on Morris: “Colinn is a coachable guard and high-IQ playmaker who always looks to make the right play. Hustles and controls the pace with ease. Very unselfish teammate and leader by example. Colinn has a bright future ahead.” Morris offered a reliable presence throughout camp and will remain a focal point at Grace Christian over the foreseeable future.

#165: 6’3 ’28 Ellington Wall (Albemarle)

Next, Ellington is a 6-foot-3 prospect in the Class of 2028. Between his high motor and versatile presence, he had no issue impacting the game on both ends of the floor. Wall is a long, wiry wing who knows how to reliably fill in the gaps and affect all facets of the game. He hits shots, attacks closeouts, and makes smart decisions with the ball in his hands. Wall is a quality rebounder and useful defender across multiple positions. He gets to his spots well in transition. Next in his development process is working on the use of his off-hand, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Anderson on Wall: “Ellington offers a versatile presence. Plays until the whistle. He has shown his ability to knock down three-pointers with ease, run the floor for easy layups, and make plays off the bounce. Displays good range for his size/position.” Wall did a lot of things well during camp and will be a focal point at Albemarle going forward.

#166: 6’3 ’28 Trevor Holland (Caldwell Academy)

Next, Trevor Holland is a 6-foot-3 prospect in the Class of 2028. Certain guys simply know how to produce in every setting, and that certainly applies to Holland. He’s a tough, polished guard who consistently fills it up as a scorer. Holland can create his own shot or find opportunities without the ball to apply nonstop pressure from all levels. He finishes through contact, knocks down jumpers along the perimeter, and makes his presence felt in transition. Holland is also a scrappy, physical defender and rebounder who outworks opponents for extra possessions. Next in his development process is working to improve as a playmaker, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Anderson on Holland: “Trevor showed off his confidence in a multitude of ways. Attacked aggressively in the open floor, hit open shots, and finished at the basket. Underrated athlete with good instincts as a defender and transition threat.” Holland enjoyed a quality showing at camp and will be a key piece for Caldwell Academy this season.

#212: 6’4 ’28 Dillon Robinson (Willow Springs)

Next, Dillon Robinson is a 6-foot-4 prospect in the Class of 2028. Arguably the top spot-up threat on this team, he consistently found ways to produce within the flow of the action. Robinson is a long, athletic wing with a wiry frame and the ability to spot up or make plays with the ball in his hands. He knocks down jumpers with consistency, both from midrange and beyond the arc, and is willing to make the extra pass when available. Robinson is a scrappy defender who positions himself well to contain opponents. Next in his development process is working on the use of his off-hand, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Anderson on Robinson: “Dillon is a long guard/wing prospect who knows how to be a disruptor on defense. Good athlete who can finish at the rim with ease. Dillon has shown his ability to handle the ball and knock down jumpers from beyond the arc.” Robinson maximized his time at camp and should be a difference-maker for Willow Spring going forward.

#213: 6’4 ’28 Isaiah Whitsett (Wesleyan Christian)

Next, Isaiah Whitsett is a 6-foot-4 prospect in the Class of 2028. Clearly one of the most productive campers in attendance, he found a ton of success as a focal point. Whitsett operated as a primary creator, both for himself and others, and filled it up from all levels. He displayed nice vision and craftiness when breaking down opponents and attacking the basket. Whitsett finished at the rim and knocked down perimeter jumpers at a high volume. He rebounds his position and anticipates well to force turnovers defensively. Next in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would allow him to find even more scoring opportunities. Coach Anderson on Whitsett: “Isaiah is another prospect who stood out with his athleticism and three-point shooting ability. Finishes with authority at the basket while showing that he could knock down jumpers with consistency. Creates well for himself and others off the dribble.” Whitsett stood out among the top performers on display and has the tools to be a key piece for Wesleyan Christian this season.

#214: 6’4 ’28 Kingston Hardie (West Forsyth)

Finishing up, Kingston Hardie is a 6-foot-4 prospect in the Class of 2028. Given his status the main interior piece for this group, he proved to be a valuable contributor on both ends of the floor. Hardie is a strong, inside-out forward with a nice blend of touch, motor, and floor-spacing ability. He battles hard and utilizes his body well to secure rebounds on either side of the ball. Hardie moves well for his size and runs the floor properly in transition. Next in his development process is working on getting quicker, as it would make him a better defender when switching onto smaller guards. Coach Anderson on Hardie: “Kingston is a tweener who could battle in the paint and make things happen on the perimeter. Showed the ability to rebound the ball in bunches. Finished well around the basket and contained his assignment defensively.” Hardie found success during his time at camp and has the tools to be a key piece for West Forsyth over the coming years.
