The Lady Top 80 proved to be an incredible showcase of talent, intensity, and competition, as some of the best players from across the state came together under one roof with Phenom Hoops and Lady Phenom. From start to finish, the energy was electric—players rose to the occasion, displayed their full skill sets, and left lasting impressions on everyone in attendance. It was a celebration of the game at its finest, where emerging stars and established standouts alike put on a show and reminded everyone why North Carolina continues to be a hotbed for elite basketball talent. As we look back on this memorable event, let’s highlight some of the players we saw from the event.
2027 Lenise Joseph has been creating a tremendous story with Lady Phenom, taking home MVP honors once again. She has been able to prove herself on one of the biggest stages with Lady Phenom, as she brings consistency, tenacity, and talent to the court. Last year, she impressed our scouts, as we had this to say:
“Offensively, Joseph is a presence that can’t be stopped, showing she is a force in the paint, carving out space, finishing through contact, and showing tremendous touch. She also attacks the boards to create extra opportunities for herself. She has really shown how she can expand her game as a big, stepping out, being more comfortable in her shot-making ability, and adding more to her overall feel. Defensively, she is a rim-protector with great timing and can be a true eraser at her size, as well as carving out space on the boards to limit opponents.”
She only proved her talent once again and has continued to develop/improve in so many areas, which is why she walked away with top honors from the event.
What has to impress you the most about Joseph is her competitive nature, event after event, game after game, as she continues to showcase why she is one of the top prospects in the state and should be a national name. Her ability to impact the game in so many ways is quite impressive, whether it is scoring inside, running the floor, blocking/altering shots, making the right decision, stepping out with her jumper, and being a leader are all impressive, and she showed that once again this year at the Lady Top 80.
What Was Said:
“No doubt about it, 2027 Lenise Joseph (North Meck) has quickly been making her presence known on the court. Great size, impact on both sides, shot-blocker, runs the floor well as a big, great touch and feel in finishing, and leader.”
“6’1 ‘27 Lenise Joseph (North Meck) is so physically overwhelming. Strong, tough, and engaged. Wreaks havoc as a defender and rebounder. Capable of doing a lot of different things offensively. Always in the right position to make a play.”
