2028 Micah Gunter (Celtics)

Gunter continues to prove to be one of the go-to options for GDS this season, as the 6’3 guard flourishes in a variety of roles. His mixture of being a playmaker, creating and facilitating, creating his own shot and attacking, or being a threat from the perimeter, Gunter is able to hurt opponents and operate well all over for his team.  Love his poise and understanding, as well as his ability to make plays overall. Expect a big season from him once again for the Bengals.

2026 Caleb Jones (Moravian Prep)

Jones is proving once again to be a hidden gem here in North Carolina, but he may not be hidden for long, especially with what he has shown over the last few weekends. Jones is a dynamic scoring guard, comfortable from all over the floor, a smooth operator and fluid shot-maker, and one who is showing an understanding of how to take good shots on the court. Extremely confident in catch and shoot situations, plays with pace, finishes at the rim… There is a lot to like and expect his recruitment to pick up.

2026 Taurean McKinnon (MVL)

McKinnon is going to be a big piece for Mooresville this upcoming season, and we had a chance to watch that in Week 3.  McKinnon brings athleticism, physicality, and a strong downhill presence as well as good size to the table. He continues to thrive out in transition, attacking the basket and finishing strong or just putting pressure on the defense to get the FT line.  McKinnon has a chance to leave his mark in several areas for his team, as well as be a strong force offensively for this team.

2027 Matt Allen (Moravian Prep)

Allen is one who should start opening more eyes, especially if he keeps on playing like what we saw over the weekend. Allen has size and feel, does a great job in getting to his spots, can be a knockdown shooter from three, has the frame to make plays off the bounce, and just plays hard no matter where he is on the court.  I really liked his motor and energy but also composure on the court, finishing through contact, picking his spots, and finding the open shots from a variety of levels.

2027 Nasir White (Westside Hawks)

White has captured my eyes over the last few weekends, and he should be a solid piece within the West Meck structure this coming season. White can show flashes of his ability to knock down shots from deep, confident from behind the perimeter, but also finds ways to attack off the bounce, get to the rim, and try to find ways to score.  There is still development within his game, but he is going to be a key piece for West Meck in hopes of turning around the program.

2028 Mack Jordan (Frat Boys)

Jordan has had a strong offseaso,n and I’m eager to see how much more he develops as a prospect. Overall though, he looks bigger, stronger, and looks composed on the floor in helping lead the charge.  Jordan displays control in running the offense, makes good reads and plays within the offense, but also has that toughness to create, attack off the dribble, and create opportunities for himself, whether it is from outside or getting inside the defense.  I believe more eyes could be looking his way this upcoming season.
