It is that time of year, as teams from all over the state will participate in the upcoming Hoop State Fall League, preparing for the upcoming season. It is a great opportunity not only for teams to gain early traction and cohesiveness, but it also gives fans and scouts a chance to check out the upcoming talent and teams each will be bringing.

Asheville Christian (Team Vision)

Asheville Christian will be an interesting program to not only watch throughout the fall league but also throughout the upcoming season. This year’s team has talent and looks to be hungry to compete another year here in North Carolina.

When discussing this team and program, it’s essential to start with their leader, Ian Bailey, who recently committed to play at UNC-Asheville in 2026. The 6’4 guard has had a strong few years in being the go-to option for this team, as he brings a high IQ to the table.  He excels in his role, controlling and running the offense with patience and pace, effectively navigating the floor, making high-IQ decisions, and serving as a strong offensive weapon with his frame and finishing capabilities. Bailey should once again flourish as the go-to option for this team, but he does a great job in finding ways to get others involved.

As far as others on this team that should be able to flourish and help be an offensive weapon, 2026 6’8 Pavlo Markiv and 2028 6’4 Ace Rogers will be the guys to really watch. Markiv has length and size, is active down in the paint, finishes at the rim, runs the floor well, and finishes strong through contact.   His motor and activity should really help this team down low and on the glass. Rogers is another to really watch out for, as he could really have a breakout season. He has size at 6’4 and has really shown that he can be an offensive force on the court, creating off the bounce, creating contact, getting to the line, or scoring effectively on his own.  On several occasions, we have seen him put up big numbers, as he could be the next breakout player for Asheville Christian this season.

Lastly, there will be others we are interested in watching with this roster, as this team looks to build continuity early on at the HS Fall League.  We are eager to learn new names and find out who else will be able to step up and help bring a balanced attack this season for this team.
