The Seros Invitational was a great way to end the travel ball season, as some big-time talent hit the courts and ended the season in a big way. A player that had the attention of our scouts was 2028 6’7 Aaron Parker Jr., a rising prospect that could be making a big jump.

Parker has a ton of intrigue with his overall feel and skill set, and having him stand at 6’7 with his long frame and athleticism, we have a feeling he is going to be a name you hear a lot more about. All throughout the event, Parker was delivering on highlights that automatically caught our attention, whether it was his length and bounce in finishing at the rim, his ability to score off the bounce, stretch the floor from outside, or his overall versatility on the defensive end. He checks off a lot of the boxes that you like to see at an early age, as Parker could be solidifying his name as one of the top prospects in his class for 2028.

Phenom 1-on-1:

Phenom: Where have you focused on your development, and what have you been working on this summer?

Parker: I have focused my development more on my body, shooting, playing the right way, and my defense. This summer, I have definitely been working on my body and my shooting ability over everything else.

Phenom: How would you best describe your game and how you like to operate on the court? Anyone you model your game after?

Parker: I like to push the pace and get easy buckets. I also like to get to my mid-range pull-up. I like to rebound on both ends of the floor, shoot from all three levels, and I want to win at all times, so that helps me play hard. I like to model my game after Kevin Durant because he is a 7-footer with a guard’s skill set. I’m hoping to be that tall. KD can score in multiple ways and gets to his spots well.

Phenom: You have had a big summer, but now you shift to the upcoming high school season. What are you hoping to prove more with your game?

Parker: I am looking to prove even further that I’m one of the best players in North Carolina and that I can defend every position. I am also focused on being a leader on my team and be a good teammate.

Phenom: It is still early as far as recruitment, but any programs you hope to hear from or dream schools?

Parker: I’m hoping to hear from North Carolina, Kansas, and Miami. I say all those schools because they are all high-major programs, and I feel like the work that I put in can get me there.

What Has Been Said:

“The steady transformation of Aaron Parker over the last twelve months has been somewhat remarkable. In addition to growing and getting stronger, he’s clearly more explosive. Parker is an incredible athlete who flies around to make his presence consistently felt on both ends of the floor. He’s a bouncy finisher with the ability to find opportunities as a cutter, transition threat, or attacker off the dribble. Parker lurks extremely well for lobs and putbacks, and doesn’t shy away from meeting opponents at the rim. That being said, he’s also made strides within his overall skillset. Parker highlighted a solid handle, respectable jumper, and the ability to make decisions off the bounce. He knows how to play to his strengths, but is comfortable expanding his role as needed. In addition to his offensive contributions, Parker stood out through his rebounding sense and defense presence. He’s capable of defending multiple positions and plays with consistent energy on both ends of the floor. Given his ability to produce as a low-maintenance option, there should be tons of optimism surrounding Parker’s appeal and overall trajectory.”
