Standing at 6’10 with a versatile skill set and growing interest from college programs, 2026 Will Stevens is starting to map out the next steps in his recruitment. After a strong showing this summer, Stevens has drawn offers and attention from a range of schools—but now he’s beginning to narrow his list and schedule key visits. Phenom Hoops spoke with Stevens to get the latest on which programs are standing out, what he’s looking for in a college, and how he sees his recruitment playing out moving forward.

What Has Been Said:

““Easily one of the most under-the-radar transfers of the summer, it still feels like not enough folks are talking about Will Stevens and his status as a potentially special prospect. Big men are widely known to develop slower than other players, but that would be difficult to determine by watching Stevens. Defensively, he’s already an excellent rim protector with the length, fluidity, timing, and athleticism to reliably anchor the paint. Stevens blocks shots at a quality rate while altering basically everything in his area. There were several times where opponents would attack, realize he was patiently waiting for their arrival, and then retreat or turn the ball over. He’s a phenomenal rebounder whose sheer activity on the glass makes him a pure nightmare for opponents. Add in his ability to finish and space the floor, and we are talking about the makings of a possible high-major talent.”

Recruitment Update:

Stevens has been a hot target for many schools over the years, and he had an eye-opening summer as of late that helped him earn a few more big-time offers. But now, the 6’10 big man from Davidson Day is looking to find his next home, as he recently announced that he had narrowed down to his five schools.

South Carolina
Davidson
Clemson
Vanderbilt
Saint Mary’s

Upcoming Visits:

It looks to be an all-out battle for one of the premier bigs in the region, and Stevens has multiple visits set up already to learn and check out programs on his list. When speaking to him recently, he mentioned that he had three visits coming up.

“I have Clemson on the last weekend of August, then I have Vanderbilt on September 26th, and then South Carolina in October,” Stevens told Phenom Hoops. He also mentioned that he is looking to set up a visit to St. Mary’s.

*Important note, Davidson was another program that made his list and is right in his backyard up around Davidson Day, where he attends school.

So, with visits set up and looking to make his final decision, what is he actually looking for in a future program?

“I’ve been looking for a school that utilizes their bigs and lets them play with freedom. Also looking for a team with a good culture and a coach I have a great relationship with.”
