A big stock riser this summer, especially in the last month or so, has been 2026 6’6 Jalyn Collingwood from New World. He has been shining on the bright stage this summer, Collingwood has been able to show more of his overall game and impact. He continues to be a physical and versatile piece on the court, scoring from multiple levels, displaying shot-making abilities, and being an impact player on both ends.  When watching him last year, Collingwood quickly stood out with his play, and we recently caught up with him to check in on all the latest, including a few upcoming visits set.

US Open Championships:
“Collingwood was another new name that presented and attracted our eyes on Day 1 of the event. The 6’5 physical guard did a great job in showing his ability to create for himself, help run the show offensively, and be a tough matchup with his size, physicality, and ability to score from a variety of levels. Collingwood mixed it up well with his ability to drive and finish, knock down shots off the dribble, and play on and off the ball; really liked that he could be used in a variety of ways as well as his ability to guard multiple positions. Very physical finisher and scorer on Day 1.”

Recruitment Update:

What a summer it has been for Collingwood, as the offers have been coming in over the last few months. In July ALONE, Collingwood has earned offers from Arizona State, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Xavier, Texas Tech, Boston College, Pittsburgh, Georgetown, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, and Ohio State. That is on top of offers from Butler, La Salle, UTSA, Hampton, Iona, Towson, George Washington, Norfolk State, Mississippi State, and Murray State.

And again, several other schools have been showing interest his way, according to Collingwood, who could see a strong jump in the rankings with his play this summer. When talking to him, schools like Kansas, Stanford, Michigan State, West Virginia, Maryland, James Madison, VCU, and Seton Hall have reached out to him, while Duke has reached out to his school coaches.

He also informed Phenom Hoops that he is looking to set up visits or is in the process of solidifying them.

Butler – September 4-6
Mississippi State – September 12-14
Boston College – Weekend of September 27

Interesting note when speaking more with Collingwood = he mentioned that Houston or Tennessee are two dream schools for him.
