Player: Xavier Peaks
Class: 2024
School: Jordan
As we rewind through our minds of players we saw this past summer, one player that popped out and will be interesting to watch more is 2024 6’4 Xavier Peaks. He will be a big addition to Jordan high school, and he could be a sneaky rising senior to really watch out for. Why' Let’s dive into more about his game.
The first thing you have to notice about his game is how athletic this young man is. He has no issue putting his opponents on a poster with his high-flying bounce, but he brings a lot more to the table. Peaks is a rugged, high-energy, and tough prospect that can make an impact on both sides of the ball. Whether it is scoring at the rim or showing more of his ability to knock down shots, he can be an effective offensive weapon. But he also uses his athleticism to attack the boards, block shots defensively, and can be versatile as a defender.
Peaks could be a prospect to really watch out for more this upcoming season.
What Has Been Said:
“Xavier has D1 athleticism for sure and a college frame right now. The way he can chase down blocks, guard 1-4 and gets up for rebounds should spark some kind of interest from college coaches. He showed over the weekend, he can hit spot 3’s. He attacks the rim with such force, he’s either going to finish or get fouled. He could be versatile for a lot of programs.”
“Peaks has been solid all weekend long, providing defensive versatility and constant rim pressure on offense. He’s a great athlete and understands how to use that to create havoc all over the defensive side of the ball. The wing duo of him and Javier Ortiz is going to be one of the better defensive tandems in the east this winter. He runs the floor and gets to his spots well, at his best when working the baseline as a corner shooter, dump off option, and lob threat. His + + athleticism can’t be understated as he’s a hard guy to stop when he’s already in the air.”
