Do you remember the name Antonio Daye Jr.'

Daye was a guard that played much of his high school career at Southern Durham High School in Durham, North Carolina. He played three years there before heading to Fort Lauderdale high school. The last time we got a chance to see him in action on the high school level was as a junior at Southern, where he averaged 19.4 points and was named Most Valuable Player as a sophomore and junior.
Then in his last year at Fort Lauderdale High School, he continued to produce at a high level, averaging 25.4 points, 6.0 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game.
Daye continued to attract the eyes of college programs around, eventually committing to Florida International. During his freshman season at FIU, he was one of the top freshmen guards in Conference-USA, where he played in all 34 games, started 18 games, and averaged 8.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.
As a sophomore, Daye continued his stellar play, earning the starting job and playing in all 31 games last year, averaging 10.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. He finished the season shooting 41 percent from the floor and improved to 33 percent from behind the arc (compared to 20 percent as a freshman).
Now, Daye could be making his biggest mark on the program and in Conference-USA, as he has helped his team get off to a 4-1 early record and is leading the team in points (19.2ppg), assists (6.2apg), and steals (2.6), while also averaging 4.6 rebounds and is shooting 48.5 percent from the floor and 40 percent from three.
The North Carolina native went under the radar during his time in Durham but was still one of the biggest producing guards in the state. It just took a little time to catch on but it is now paying off at Florida International. Just chalk it up as another HoopState product and Phenom Alum producing at a high level.
