Phenom Hoop Report is all over the Mid-Atlantic region so it is no surprise that we rolled into one of the hot beds of talent in the Carolina’s, Fayetteville, NC to hold our 3G event this year. While this event may not be as big as others we have hosted of late the talent here is strong. If you were not able to get into the gym, here are a few you may have missed out on.

Jalend Randall, 2019 W with JoCo Allstars 17u – Energy wing went all out in this one. Has enough length, bounce, and athleticism to hang on the wing on offense and defend it on D. Showed a good motor while we were courtside as well, something we love to see. Ceiling is not going to be that high here but there is some here to be had. Bottom line is that an athlete like this with his motor is always going to get looks. And as long as he plays as hard as he does, he will produce.

Tyler Middleton, 2019 G with Team Wall Marion 17u – Kid had a good showing here this weekend. Plays on a team loaded with athletes and skill so does not have to do too much for his team to be successful which just allows him to be free and play. He showed the ability to hit the 3, move the ball in the offense, and handle the ball as needed as well. He is a bit on the smaller side but as he proved here this weekend, kid has game.

Nale McClendon, 2019 W with Team Wall Marion 17u – We enjoyed watching this kids game this weekend. He has a good body and size off the wing but game is more built to play inside at this point. He needs to finish better and more consistently than he showed but the tools are here for that to happen in time. Does not seem to mind the physical nature of the game. Right now has the feel of an undersized power player at the next level but if the shot is there and face-up game continues to develop we can see him holding his own at the wing at the next level.

Thomas Medlin, 2019 G with JoCo Allstars 17u – Really opened up the offense in the first half behind his 3 3’s in route to an 11 point half. The release is a bit slow but it is true and when he has time to get off can hurt you. Not the athlete off the wing others are but does give good effort. Once other team keyed in on him as a shooter his impact was limited but without him early this one could have gotten away from his team.
