At the High Point Christian open gym, Michael Hueitt started a little slowly (granted they just finished an intense workout in the weight room), but midway through the scrimmage he heated up and showcased what he does best and that is score quickly and in bunches. Hueitt is wired to score, it’s in his DNA. Standing an extremely lengthy 6’3 and still growing, Hueitt has a young “baby face” and it appears he has plenty of growing yet to do. He has huge feet, long legs, and an enormous 6’9 wingspan!
Currently, Hueitt holds over 10 offers all from mid major schools, but is now getting interest from Wake Forest, Virginia, Rutgers and Louisville. We expect that list to grow. He has the athleticism, skill set and upside that high majors will be tracking over the next two years. Hueitt has been a regular of the Phenom platform for over five years. He has continuously worked to get better and is clearly focused on his long term goals. He’s a polite and humble young man that “gets the big picture.” He’s a well rounded student athlete and puts as much energy in the classroom as the basketball court. Hueitt sports an impressive 3.52 GPA.
Hueitt has excellent quickness and has the ability to create space with the ball. His best move of the day came when he was dribbling the ball on the right side of the court in transition. Hueitt made a nifty one handed cross-over move with his right hand directly into a step back where he drained the 15 foot jumper. That was a big time move and one done with relative ease! He has all the offensive tools that translate well to the next level.
