The Phenom George Lynch Invitational was one to remember, as we had an absolutely loaded schedule full of talent. And many of those premier prospects stepped up to the challenge, leaving a lasting impression from the event.
One of the best performances that we saw from the event was from 2028 Micah Gunter, as the Greensboro Day guard scored nearly half of his team’s points and put his full game on display. Gunter, who we believe should be looked at as a national prospect more, put his team on his back against a very good Tennessee Collegiate Academy, scoring 29 points and doing so all over the court. He continues to flourish as a shot-maker from outside, hitting multiple threes with ease and confidence, but he also does a great job of being an efficient scorer from multiple levels. Whether scoring off the catch, creating off the bounce, displaying playmaking skills, and having a strong overall feel for the game, Gunter put on an impressive overall performance in front of a packed house.
Right now, Gunter holds multiple D1 offers, but that list should dramatically increase with what he has shown this entire season, early on.
What Was Said:
“2028 6’3 Micah Gunter started off steady and set the tone early. Strong playmaking, clean shot creation, and kept everything simple and efficient. Made an impact defensively as well, jumping passing lanes and turning steals into transition opportunities.”
“6’3 2028 Micah Gunter was phenomenal for Greensboro Day in the win finishing with 29p 5r 4a 3s, including 5 3s. HM guard with size, skill & shot making ability. Under control. Doesn’t get sped up. Gets to his spots well. Sees the floor. Shoots the ball well.”
“2028 Micah Gunter (Greensboro Day) has been super impressive. Getting to his spots, scoring off the bounce, being an effective shot-maker from deep in catch-and-shoot situations, and being a playmaker for others.”
