Phenom Hoops continues to make its presence around the country, and recently, we were able to catch a tremendous game between two 5-star prospects. Crestwood and Blair Academy matched up over the weekend, as 2026 Deron Rippey Jr. put on a show. But it was also a chance to watch the future in 2028 6’7 Isaiah Hamilton for Crestwood, who looks to be the next big-time prospect coming out of Canada.

Joe Moussa was one of the first to really highlight this young man, and he nailed it with his breakdown. In speaking with him shortly after the game, this is what he had to say when breaking down Hamilton’s game:

“He’s the most talented 16-year-old Canadian prospect since Andrew Wiggins. Fierce competitor. Strikes fear into opponents 2/3 years older than him with his ability to impose his will on both ends for certain stretches. Good for about 4-5 ridiculous plays per game. Freakish leaping ability with a long wingspan, nearly touching the top of the backboard. On top of all that he’s a gifted shot maker with range. His length and physical tools also make him elite at protecting the rim and playing passing lanes. Plays with so much passion, often times too much but doing a great job managing his emotions. He has that IT factor no doubt about it.” – Joe Moussa from NPH

Watching the game with our own eyes as well, it was easy to see why he is such a special talent in what he has to offer but also his trajectory as a prospect. Hamilton was ferocious at the rim, finishing strong and with power, excelling off the bounce and attacking downhill, and proving that he did not just rely on his athleticism with his ability to create his own shot and score from multiple levels. He shows confidence from the perimeter, especially in catch-and-shoot situations, he can create space to rise over defenders with his size and excels really well in displaying light feet and strong footwork in his ability to score and get where he wants. You add all that, along with his ability to put on a show with his athleticism, Hamilton truly shines as an offensive weapon. Again, though, this is a young man who is still just a sophomore but proves that he can impact the game in all areas, whether it is scoring, rebounding, blocking shots, and being a versatile piece on the court.

It is why early on national outlets have him as a Top 10 player but we still feel like so many may not know about this young man. Holding multiple offers already, Hamilton certainly made us believers, as he looks to be the next rising star out of Canada and a name you will be hearing about a lot.
