The Phenom Hoop State Fall League is coming to a close, and there have been plenty of players who have made a statement over the last three weeks. One of those players that has clearly elevated his game out East has been 2028 6’3 Knox Frey at Apex Friendship. Frey looks to be making an early statement before the upcoming season, as he is hoping to have a breakout-type season and be a true leader on the court. And he has certainly shown that early on with some impressive performances.
Frey is a quality athlete on the court who has a good overall feeling o the game. He makes his presence felt in so many ways for his team, whether it is as a playmaker, scorer, or doing the little things without the ball in his hands. At the Fall League, he has had some really impressive showings, including a 30-point, 8-rebound, 3-assists performance. Frey showed composure and excellent feel, displaying a ton of confidence in his ability to pull up and knock down shots from a variety of levels, be a big perimeter threat, attack and finish with body control, compete on the glass, and set up other teammates as well. He simply showed the whole package in a guard that programs are looking for, which should only carry into the upcoming high school season.
What Has Been Said:
“Given everything he showcased, Frey should certainly be a key piece for this group. He’s a smooth shooter and quality athlete who provides a useful presence with or without the ball in his hands. Frey scored the ball from multiple levels while highlighting spot-up ability, defensive instincts, and rebounding prowess. As he continues to tighten things up, he will certainly be a prospect to monitor over the coming years.”
“He’s a smart, scrappy guard prospect with a well-rounded skillset and an unselfish approach to the game. Frey is a terrific spot-up threat who can attack closeouts, finish at the basket, and make correct decisions with the ball in his hands. He’s a scrappy defender with quickness, toughness, and motor to cause problems for opponents. Frey also rebounds well for his size.”
