2027 6’5 Marcus Curry Jr. has been proving to be a big-time recruit coming through the state of Georgia, as he has been making a lot of noise with recent offers and visits. Curry has earned several strong offers as of late, with his list continuing to grow and interest from other programs starting to rise. Phenom Hoops was able to sit down and talk with him on all the latest, as we talk about his visit to Tennessee camp, his recent visit to Florida State, where schools are standing early on, and who else could enter the picture really quickly.
Game Description:
“I am an all-around athletic guard that loves to play defense and can guard all positions. I impact the game defensively, causing it to be easier for me on the offensive side of the ball. This allows me to make plays for my teammates while being an efficient scorer. I also try to be a great leader and boost team morale.”
Focus this offseason:
“My focus on this upcoming season is to show how I can lead my team to wins as well as win states. I want to show that I can be a persistent scorer and defender.”
Recruitment Update:
Curry is proving to be a talent many college coaches are looking to secure in the Class of 2027, as he holds some impressive offers. As of late, he has secured some strong offers from USF and Tennessee, while also earning offers from Georgia State, Presbyterian, Kennesaw State, Florida State, Xavier, Alcorn State, East Texas A&M, Ohio, and Eastern Kentucky.
He recently made a trip to a camp at Tennessee, walking away with an offer from the Vols. It was a big one for him, as they have been keeping track of him for some time now.
“It felt great getting that offer, knowing that they were the No. 1 team last year for five consecutive weeks,” Curry told Phenom Hoops. “Knowing that they have been watching me for a while and believe in me, and my work ethic.”
Curry is also coming off a visit to Florida State, one that went well as he had a chance to learn a lot about the program.
“It went well,” he said. “I enjoyed meeting the coaching staff, watching practice, and seeing the facilities. We were able to watch practice, tour the facility more and had a one-on-one with the head coach. He said he loved my game and that it would fit well with their style of play, and that his recruitment will be aggressive.”
Curry had mentioned that the Seminoles had been one of the more persistent schools recruiting him as of right now. Florida State, along with Tennessee, would be sitting high on his list as of right now. However, he does have a visit coming up to Clemson, and he has been receiving interest from schools like Georgia, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, and Purdue as well.
