“I’ve been in the weight room focusing on getting stronger so I can get to my spots easier. I’ve also been working on making quicker decisions on the court.” – Development and Focus

First High Major Offer:

Dobyns is a big-time prospect in the Class of 2027, and there is certainly a lot to like about his game. At 6’8, he plays with fluidity and is quite skilled in a variety of areas, which is why schools are coming his way early and they won’t be slowing down. He first earned an offer from Old Dominion a while back, as ODU was quite familiar with his game after recruiting 2025 Zacch Wiggins.

“It was exciting,” Dobyns said about the ODU offer. “I had been waiting to get that first one, so it felt great.”

But now, West Virginia is the latest offer for Dobyns, giving him his first high-major offer and certainly a big one in his eyes. “The coaching staff reached out to my parents,” he said. “It was exciting to know the work has paid off so far. It’s a program that likes versatile wings that stretch the floor and that’s my play style.”

Two programs are on the boards for the rising star here in North Carolina, but other schools are noticing as well. Dobyns mentioned schools like Virginia and UNCG have expressed interest as well over the summer.
