Player: DJ Wylie
Class: 2027
Height: 6’4
School: Ridge View High School

There always seems to be players coming up in the state of South Carolina, and a prospect that needs to garner more looks his way is 2028 6’4 DJ Wylie from Ridge View High School. Wylie is one who you can see has taken the next step, along with developing his overall body/frame.

The shooting guard brings athleticism to the court, being assertive in attacking the basket, producing in a variety of ways, and his overall development has certainly improved. In talking with Wylie, he would say his jumpshot has drastically improved, as he has been focusing on improving in that area. But he has also focused on ball handling and decision-making, as he looks to be a more complete player.

When watching him at The Bash, Wylie impressed with his quick decision-making and burst, bringing physicality in attacking off the bounce, looking to attack and get downhill at the rim. But he makes strong reads with his ability to take what the defense is giving him, and he can also hurt from the perimeter.

It is clear that Wylie has improved and taken the next step in his game, and he should be a player for college programs to take notice of, especially down in South Carolina.

Recruitment:

Wylie is one to really keep an eye on down in South Carolina in the Class of 2027. A while back, Wylie had earned offers from Jacksonville, Nicholls State, Queens, and Miles College. But getting a chance to watch him more at The Bash, Wylie could see an even bigger uptick in his recruitment.

“Recruitment has been picking up,” Wylie told Phenom Hoops. “Virginia Tech, Tennessee, South Carolina, Wofford, Kansas State, Harvard, Auburn, and Mississippi State have all been reaching out to me. They have been wanting to get in touch with me and have shown interest. Virginia Tech and Wofford want me to come for a visit, but nothing has been official.”

Wylie would say that Virginia Tech and Wofford are two programs that have shown the strongest interest in him as of late.
