Player: Andrew Ross
Class: 2027
Height: 6’4
School: St. Paul VI Catholic
St. Paul VI has a proven track record of having elite talent and that continues today. And it seems like they have a few young prospects that will be ones to watch out for in the coming years, which will include 2027 6’4 Andrew Ross. The young guard announced back in June he would be suiting up for St. Paul VI, as they look to replace some big talent from last season.
We spoke to Ross to learn more about his game, his summer, and his excitement about his new team, along with earning some early offers and attention from college programs.
Game Description:
“I excel on both defense and offense. Offensively I’m not just a guy who likes to score. I like to get my teammates involved. Because of my shooting ability, it leaves a lot of driving to the basket, and because of that, I’m able to pass out to my teammates for an easy and open shot. I try to do more than just scoring so you know I’m a guy that likes and tries to rebound, get steals and a lot of assists.”
Summer Ball:
“My summer was good, playing for Team Takeover and playing on the EYBL circuit. As soon as I got here, I fit right in but my role was a little bit different from what I’m used to playing. My coach wanted me to focus on scoring and being a sharpshooter but I’m more of a two-way player. I was hoping to show more of my ability to make plays for others and to guard the best players on the other teams. I take a lot of pride in defense.”
Early Recruitment:
Holds offers from Mississippi State and George Mason
“I’m excited that I’m starting to see everything come together. I’ve put a lot of hours in over the years and I’m starting to see it pay off. I think what I hear most from schools is that I have a really high ceiling and I’m one of the best shooters in the country.”
Other Schools Showing Early Interest:
“Maryland, UMass, West Virginia, Towson, Syracuse, Creighton, and George Washington.”
Dream School:
“Duke and North Carolina.”
