Lady Phenom Hoops will have their eyes on so many prospects around the state of North Carolina, and we were able to learn more about prospects at the Lady Top 80. One player that quickly grabbed our attention was 2027 Khloe Joyner from McDowell.

Standing at 6’2, Joyner continues to emerge as one of the most intriguing prospects in North Carolina’s 2027 class. Her blend of size, skill, and versatility makes her a natural matchup problem for opponents on both ends of the floor. Joyner plays with a mature feel for the game—capable of creating off the bounce, attacking downhill, or stretching the floor as a reliable perimeter threat. She’s comfortable operating in multiple positions, whether facilitating, posting up smaller defenders, or initiating offense in transition.

What separates Joyner is her IQ and court vision, allowing her to make smart reads and create opportunities for others. Defensively, her length and mobility make her an active presence on the glass and in rotations. As she continues to refine her consistency and assertiveness, Joyner’s all-around game and upside suggest she’ll be a name that college programs track closely in the coming years.

Right now, she holds offers from Towson, Stony Brook, Radford, Furman, Western Carolina, Liberty, Appalachian State, James Madison, UNCG, UNCW, and Presbyterian.

Lady Top 80 Evaluation:

“Between her incredible blend of size, skill, athleticism, and two-way versatility, she was clearly one of the most dominant campers on display. Joyner showcased the full arsenal with creation instincts, scoring ability from all levels, and the tools to dominate opponents defensively and on the glass. Next in her development process is working on her ability to move without the ball, as it would allow her to find even more scoring chances. Coach McCartha on Joyner: “Khloe is an excellent all-around player. She has phenomenal court sense and IQ. Does a great job facing the basket and getting to her spots. She pushes the tempo well on offense with the ball and sprints without it. She’s great at finishing and passes with really good vision. Superb athlete. Increasing her physicality and extending her three-point range would be her areas to improve.” Joyner was clearly among the notable players on display, earning a Top Performer award, and should be poised for a highly productive season at McDowell.”
