Player: Tarris Bouie
Class: 2026
Previous School: Chambers
New School: Spire Academy

High school season has come and gone in North Carolina, and now we enter the spring/summer ball for several players. It also means that there will be plenty of news of players coming into and leaving North Carolina. The first domino has fallen here in North Carolina, as it was announced that 2026 Tarris Bouie, a Top 100 prospect, will be heading to Spire Academy and will be coached by legendary coach Kevin Boyle.

Bouie has grown up right in front of our eyes, coming from a very intriguing young prospect, to now a Top 100 prospect in the country with his length, explosiveness, and scoring capabilities. To dive more into his game, this is what Patrick O’Brien had to say about his game to start the high school season.

“2026 6’6 Tarris Bouie has been a prospect on our radar for some time now, as we noticed his potential early on.  But watching him recently at the Phenom Fall League, one can clearly see that this is a young man clearly making the right strides and not only adding more to his game but also getting stronger as a player. Bouie certainly grabbed our attention with his frame and looking stronger overall, which has only helped him in an array of ways with his game. And the confidence continues to skyrocket as well, as he continues to flourish as an extremely strong scoring option that is able to light it up from deep, rise up over defenders with ease, and finish high at the rim.  His energy and mentality change the game and with him growing more into his body, Bouie continues to take his game to another level.  Expect him to be one of the premier talents once again in the state of North Carolina.”

Bouie will instantly bring a strong scoring presence, much like he did at Chambers this past season, and will be a target for many college programs in the coming years. Expect him to continue to make waves this summer and the upcoming high school season.

What Else Was Said:

“At 6-foot-5, Bouie is steadily becoming one of the more dynamic players in North Carolina’s Class of 2026. He’s a high-level shooting threat from pretty much everywhere on the floor, yet is much more than a mere spot-up option. Bouie mixes up his scoring approach extremely well to highlight a healthy variety of finishes, pull-ups, and jumpers from beyond the arc. He’s great at creating space within a few dribbles, getting to his spots, and pulling up and converting over the outstretched arms of contesting defenders. Bouie also looks to attack closeouts whenever possible, where he’s shown vision, craftiness, and an understanding of how to make correct decisions. He finishes fairly well through contact and amidst traffic, but will become even better with physical development. Additionally, Bouie plays very well without the ball in his hands, both as a cutter and spot-up threat, and simply knows how to lead by example. He battles defensively, competes on the glass, and is capable of doing everything offensively.”
