With Phenom Hoops continuing to highlight players throughout the state, we head back to The Well Invitational presented by Underrated Athletes as we look at another player who as been playing at a high level all season long. 2026 6’4 KJ Shouse from Carolina International has been taking advantage of a huge opportunity this season to lead the charge, and he has disappointed. The junior prospect is averaging over 20 points, seven rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game, clearly being the focal point of the team’s offense.
Shouse brings tremendous value to the court and his versatility should only help him attract the eyes of college coaches and play at the next level. At 6’4, he has shown the ability to flourish in a variety of roles, understanding how to score and play bigger than listed inside but also playing along the perimeter. Shouse’s understanding and athleticism allow him to be a force in the paint as well as on the glass, as his team needs him to fill those roles to be successful. However, he is at his best when he can play more along the perimeter, creating and making plays off the bounce, attacking the rim and being aggressive, and also knocking down shots from multiple levels.
His value to his team cannot be denied, as Shouse has proven time after time that he is capable of doing what is needed for his team to win. And that alone should only help carry more eyes his way.
