Player: Justin Caldwell
School: Berean Baptist
Height: 6’9
AAU: Washington Warriors
2026 6’9 Justin Caldwell has been an absolute force no matter where he has played, and he continues to bring that physicality to the court this summer in what could be a big recruiting time for him. Caldwell has a lot of intangibles in his game that you have to love, especially with his ability to bully opponents in the paint, be a force on the glass, and simply dominate against opponents with his frame. We recently wrote about him here, saying:
“Arguably the most productive guy on this list, Caldwell has proven to be a valuable asset for Berean since arriving. He’s a strong, physically overwhelming big man with toughness, athleticism, and a quality level of skill. Caldwell is a reliable scorer from the block and midrange area but can also space the floor as needed. He utilizes his body well to gain position and absorb contact as a rebounder and finisher. Caldwell is averaging 22.8 PPG and 4.4 RPG for the Bulldogs.”
Patrick O’Brien and Phenom Hoops were able to catch up with him on the latest, as he talks about his newest offers and much more.
Latest Recruiting News:
Caldwell seems to be a hot topic as of late with college programs, as he continues to add more impressive offers to his list. He recently announced that he earned offers from Arizona State and TCU, now joining an impressive list that includes Ohio State, Iowa, Charlotte, East Carolina, George Mason, Old Dominion, Oklahoma State, High Point, Mississippi State, Radford, VCU, Norfolk State, and Hampton.
Right now, he has found a lot of success in suiting up with the Washington Warriors, as they had a strong start to the travel ball season. “Great, last weekend we went 4-0, beating every team we played by around 10+… I like playing with the Washington Warriors, they feel like family,” Caldwell said.
His performances impressed enough to add two more offers from Arizona State and TCU, two schools that he is excited to learn more about.
“I’m very happy about them, the coaches said they loved my film and have been watching me for a while and could definitely see me playing for their program in the future,” he said. “Very nice coaches and great programs.”
With those two entering the mix, we also were able to ask Caldwell which schools have been continuing to stay strong, with programs like Ohio State, Tennessee, Virginia, Oklahoma State, and Mississippi State standing out right now. Caldwell also has a trip to Ohio State in the making, but no date has been set.
