2026 Josiah Sanders has been a proven prospect over the years and is ranked by outlets as a Top-100 prospect, especially with his combination of size, feel, versatility, and overall skillset on the court. Holding multiple D1 offers from all over the country, Patrick O’Brien with Phenom Hoops caught up with Sanders at the Phenom Summer Showcase to see who has been making him a priority and a few new interests coming his way.
Phenom Scouting Report:
When you talk about his game, Sanders can help in a variety of areas on the court. With his size, his skillset, and versatility, Sanders continues to prove that he can be an impact player at several positions. Sanders shows IQ, feel, and passing ability to set up his teammates, making good reads overall, but uses his big frame to take down smaller opponents and work inside as well as take bigger opponents outside and off the dribble. He rebounds, defends, can be switched on defense, and just has a natural feel in being a universal piece for his team. This is why so many schools have been making him a target.
Recruitment Update:
Sanders was one we were eager to watch again on the court, as he continues to show why so many schools have already offered. He has been racking in the offers, earning ones from Virginia Tech, Georgetown, Missouri, West Virginia, Iowa, Rutgers, Oklahoma State, Iowa, and so many others, and some of those have continued to remain strong with him.
“Schools like Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, and Georgetown have continued to stay strong with me as of today,” Sanders told Phenom Hoops. “I’ve also been receiving strong interest from schools like Utah and Houston.”
He recently made a visit to Utah, one that certainly impressed him. Sanders also said that he has hopes of visiting Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, Georgetown, and Houston coming up soon but no official dates have been set.
As far as a decision timeline, Sanders mentioned that he would like to ultimately decide before his senior season.
