Regarded as one of the more accomplished prospects in the state of North Carolina, schools continue to slowly recruit 2026 Dionte Neal. Coming off another special season at Reidsville and now leading the charge for CP3, Neal continues to prove that he is one of the elite point guards in the region.
We recently had this to say about him:
“Neal’s overall impact is truly special; he does an excellent job in running the show, displaying high IQ and feel, elite speed to get by defenders, the willingness to create and make plays for himself, score in all areas of the court, and understands how to get everyone else involved. You WANT him to run the ship for your program, and that doesn’t even mention the impact he brings on the defensive end. Neal is scrappy, relentless, and confident on the court, creating problems for opponents on both sides of the court.”
Is Dionte Neal the Most Accomplished Player in North Carolina?
Neal, who is an accomplished dual-sport athlete, continues to flourish and rack up accolades on the court, which is why schools are continuing to recruit him at the next level. However, Neal received a big offer, coming from Boston College and his first ACC offer. Phenom Hoops spoke caught up with Neal shortly after his announcement to get his thoughts on the latest. Check out what he had to say below.
Phenom: What are your thoughts on the Boston College offer? What was it like to get that first ACC offer?
Neal: I was excited, it was everything and more I’ve always wanted to play on the biggest stage, and Boston College gives me the opportunity to do that.
Phenom: What did the staff have to say when they offered you?
Neal: They were just telling me that they’ve been watching for a while, and they like what I can do… also that they’ve been in the portal and they were looking for a guard, and I was their guy.
Phenom: What do you know about that program?
Neal: ACC obviously, and it is also just a good all-around school; academics, sports, and a good town.
Phenom: What other schools would you say have been strong with you?
Neal: UNCG, Appalachian State, Tennessee, and North Carolina (for football)
