Back in 2023, Phenom Hoops introduced you to 2026 BJ Powell, who had been attending Lincoln-Way East in Illinois.  If you missed it then, you could check out the article here.

But in recent news, it has been announced that Powell is back in the Carolinas and will be playing at Combine Academy this upcoming season.  Powell is originally from the area, so he certainly is excited about returning back home and playing with some tremendous talent.

“I’m excited about Combine Academy,” Powell told Phenom Hoops. “It is a great school. I love playing with other high-level players in practice every day. I hope to bring leadership, ball-handling, shooting, and a high IQ to Combine.”

Right now, Powell holds offers from Radford, Howard, and South Carolina State and since the contact period, he has been hearing from Stanford, St. Louis, Columbia, Western Michigan, Charleston, and Denver.

Game Description:

“Powell: I’m a natural scorer and shooter. I’m currently shooting 50 percent from 3-point range and 90 percent from the free-throw line. However, I also just play good ball. I don’t mind passing and making the right basketball play. I’m working on some defensive areas, and I’m getting better. (I like to model my game after) Chris Paul because he is a leader and Steph Curry because of his shooting.”
