2026 6’11 Trevon Carter-Givens was a target for many over the last year, racking up offers from several schools like Washington, USC, TCU, Florida State, Creighton, San Diego State, and also NC State. He recently posted photos of his recent visit to Raleigh, getting to check out what the schools and city have to offer, as well as developing a stronger relationship with the coaching staff.
Phenom Hoops caught up with the big man to ask how everything went, what has stood out, and how strong NC State has been making him a target. See what he had to say.
What All He Got to Do:
“I got to meet all the staff and players, and I also went to the football game against Virginia. I got to see all the facilities and housing, as well as other parts of Raleigh.”
Relationship with Staff:
“We talked about their program goals, player development, and how they could help me grow both on and off the court. The relationship we’ve built feels genuine. I can see they believe in me, and I respect the way they’ve been consistent and transparent throughout the process.”
NC State Standing Out?
“NC State has definitely been on me way more than any other school. What stands out is the energy, not only by the coaches, but by the players, and also how hard they work towards winning. Another thing that stands out is how close they are. It doesn’t feel like a team; it feels more like a family. One other thing that I’ve noticed is how successful Coach Wade is at winning and developing pro players.”
When talking to Carter-Givens a bit more, he mentioned that he doesn’t have any other visits set up at the moment, but schools like USC and San Diego State have been recruiting him strongly.
