We said it a year ago and college coaches are listening, as Phenom Hoops said that 2025 Jordan Watford is one to buy stock in early on and he announced this week that he had earned his first offer from Mississippi State.
Back in July, we had this to say about Watford:
“You can see that Watford gets it early. Yes, physically, he has great tools that check off the boxes; great size already at 6’4, solid frame, and good athleticism… all are there. But when you actually watch him more with his high school team, you can see that there are so many other intangibles that you can see that will carry him a long way down the road and make him a priority for so many schools.”

Well, his first offer is on the table, one he is certainly excited about but he knows it doesn’t stop here, as other schools are looking his way as well. Check out what he had to say about earning his first offer.
What does it mean to get that first offer'
“To get that first offer, it really means a lot honestly. It shows the work I’ve put in has been showing but now it makes me understand that to get where I want to go, now I must work even harder than before. Must remain humble and stay towards God.”
How did you hear about the offer'
“I heard about it at the end of practice. We usually meet at halfcourt, and our coaches talk to us, and my head coach usually prays at the end of every practice, and towards the end of the prayer, he mentioned it.”
What other schools have been expressing interest'
“Schools like Winthrop, Tennessee, South Carolina, Clemson, USF, and a few other schools.”
