In the Raleigh area, there may not be a senior having a bigger season than 2025 Ashton King at Millbrook. The senior guard has been leading the charge impressively, averaging nearly 24 points, 4.0 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game. But one has to understand that no matter where he has been, he has found ways to bring production.

When he was at Myers Park with a loaded roster, King was able to bring tremendous value to both sides of the ball.  We wrote about his presence back in 2023, where we said this:

“One of those players who impressed at the George Lynch Invitational was 2025 Ashton King, a name we haven’t been able to view in some time, but he certainly gave us a reminder of what he provides on the court. King is a strong, sturdy guard who continues to showcase his ability to knock down shots and be a strong perimeter threat. But he did a great job in competing on both sides of the floor at the event, whether it was scoring inside and out, competing and battling for extra possessions, and did a nice job defensively as well.”

Now at Millbrook, he has clearly taken on the role of being the go-to option offensively for this team, stepping up, showing his ability to score in a variety of ways, knock down shots from outside, create for himself and others, finish through contact, and consistently be a leader on the court. We recently wrote about King’s season, where we said this:

“Millbrook has certainly tested themselves this season with a heavy schedule, and they have been in several tight games throughout.  This is a team that competes and battles, and King has proven to be the go-to option offensively for them. Averaging 23.4 points per game, as well as 4.4rpg, 3.3apg, and 1.9spg, King has stepped up offensively in being able to show that he can be a strong scoring option. He continues to be a threat from deep, as he looks for his shots from outside but uses his frame to attack and finish well also. King has stepped up in some big games with his last coming against Cardinal Gibbons with 38 points.”

As an unsigned senior, King has proven himself no matter where he is, what role he plays, and what is needed of him for his team.  This is why, as we start winding down the recruiting class of 2025 here in North Carolina, King is one that college coaches should be making a late target as he looks to finish the season in a big way.
