Player: Cheikh Diebakhate
Class: 2025
Height: 6’9
School: Combine Academy

Phenom Hoops went out to Lincolnton to check out some premier talent at the Seros Camp, with several familiar faces taking the court along with learning a few new names as well. One player that we learned more about and I’m eager to see more about is 2025 6’9 Cheikh Diebakhate.

Being part of Combine Academy heading into the season, Diebakhate will be a key factor for his team with his size and potential. The forward should only continue to develop and be a key piece on both ends, especially with the flashes we saw. He is an agile and fluid big man who stays active and engaged on the court. Diebakhate runs the floor well, runs rim to rim, always stays engaged offensively in being able to finish around the basket and at the rim, has solid hands, makes good passes, and can stretch the court at times with his perimeter shot.  Also liked his ability to impact the game defensively with his 7’4 wingspan and ability to alter shots.

Diebakhate has been here in the US for a year but unfortunately suffered an injury two months into his AAU season, taking time to rehab. But now, he is ready to showcase his potential and game and has been doing so early on. From what we saw, this is a forward that should be targeted by several college programs of multiple levels, and he should only continue to develop.
