Phenom Hoops recently got in touch with 2025 6’4 CJ Shaw from Nevada, a rising prospect who has been making more noise this summer with his play with Vegas Elite. Schools have been coming stronger his way, expressing interest and offers come rolling in. Shaw recently played at Pangos All-American Camp, where he was able to shine on the big stage and could see that push his recruitment even higher.

We spoke more to Shaw about his game and development, along with what coaches have been saying, what they have liked about his game, and who else has been showing interest his way.

Phenom: How would you best describe your game'
Shaw: To explain my game, I would say I am a 3-level scorer, confident in the things I do, and nonchalant in a good way, like very coachable. I can play on both ends of the floor.

Phenom: Who do you model your game after'
Shaw: I would say Paul George.

Phenom: What have you been working on in developing your game'
Shaw: Definitely my off-the-dribble shooting.

Phenom: Who have you been playing with this summer'
Shaw: Vegas Elite EYBL 17u

Phenom: How has your team been doing this summer so far'
Shaw: Everything has been going well so far. We just made Peach Jam and our team is solid; we have a bunch of all-around players on our team.

Phenom: Recruitment has been going well. What have you been hearing from them'
Shaw: They have all been saying they like my game, how I can play both sides of the court, how I can shoot, make good plays not just for me but for others, and also finish at a high level.

Shaw: What offers do you hold'
Shaw: UNLV, Utah State, Utah Tech, Southern Utah, Montana, Portland State, UCSD, Cal Baptist, Santa Clara, Iona, Texas Arlington, and Xavier.

Shaw: How has been showing interest your way'
Shaw: Washington State, California, Colorado State, Pepperdine, LMU, UCLA, Creighton, Saint Louis, Washington, Michigan, New Mexico, TCU, Arkansas, and Colorado.
