Summer ball is here and one team that you will want to check out all season long is Drive Nation, as this is a team that is loaded with talent all over the court. One of those players is 2023 point guard Jamyron Keller, who is coming off a strong season at Ellison High School (TX) and showing more of his game with Drive Nation.
Keller and his team had a strong start to the season and Keller opened some eyes with what he can provide. He is a strong, sturdy, athletic guard that can finish at the rim, score in a variety of ways, find his teammates, and really bring excitement with his bounce. That is why the young man has added two new offers, as Phenom Hoops spoke to him about the latest, his game, and his excitement about playing with Drive Nation this summer.
Phenom: How has everything been going with Drive Nation to start the season'
Keller: Things have been pretty good, to say the least. And it is still early, so we still have more room to grow.
Phenom: Still early but looks like a very talented group. What is your excitement about playing with the talent around you this year'
Keller: Man, where do I begin with this question… We’ve got top guys like KJ Lewis and Ron Holland who guys absolutely can not stop from putting the ball in the basket. But we’ve also got some sleepers on the team who don’t get the recognition they deserve and so I’m ready excited just to see how we are able to put the two together and just dominate.
Phenom: How much fun is it to be playing with that talent'
Keller: Extremely fun playing with so many talented guys, makes my job so much easier.
Phenom: What are you hoping to show more about your game after your high school season'
Keller: Just that I can do everything on the floor, whether it is guarding the other team’s best player or scoring on all three levels.
Phenom: What has been the latest with your recruitment'
Keller: Just got two offers within the last 48 hours, so that has been going pretty good.
Phenom: Added Saint Louis and Toledo. What did those two have to say your way when they offered and what they liked about your game'
Keller: They were just saying they liked how I controlled the floor and my energy on the defensive side of the ball.
Phenom: How long have they been expressing interest your way' And what do you all know about each of them'
Keller: Since about the end of last summer and I just know that both programs are very great programs with great winning traditions.
Phenom: You hold other offers. Who has been staying strong with you so far'
Keller: I would definitely say Texas State and Oral Roberts.
Phenom: How often do they stay in touch with you'
Keller: I’d say no more than two weeks pass by.
Phenom: Have you been able to visit any schools in the past'
Keller: I’ve been to Oral Roberts, Texas State, and Texas A&M.
Phenom: What did you like about those schools and visits'
Keller: Oral Roberts had some unique things like its diversity and that I liked. Texas State was also a vibe, I liked the feel of the campus, gave me a summer hangout-type of campus and that made me very comfortable. Texas A&M, you could tell was a college campus; lots of sports fans and they weren’t afraid to let you know.
Phenom: What other schools have shown interest your way but have yet to offer'
Keller: Clemson, South Carolina, Florida State, Ole Miss, Colorado, TCU, Texas A&M, Utah, Rice, and Stanford.
