The Carolina Riptide has been a fascinating program to watch on the court and they continue to bring underrated talent to the forefront for college coaches. One player that has continued to be a hot name with the program is 2022 6’8 Trey Ramsey, a player that has been consistently productive every time he steps on the court.

When diving into Ramsey’s game, he is a fluid, mobile forward that impacts the floor on multiple levels and in an array of ways.  Down low, he works extremely well with his back to the basket, showing a good feel and touch to get the ball on the rim and moves better than most forwards.  He also shows that he is comfortable facing up with his mid-range game and extends it out to the three, as well as put the ball on the deck.  Ramsey also does a nice job in getting on the boards on both ends, running the floor and beating defenders down the court, and making good decisions.

It is why he is going to be a hot topic for many schools down the road and schools should continue to monitor his game and recruitment.  Right now, he holds an offer from Bob Jones University, one he received not long ago. But in speaking with him more, Ramsey also mentioned schools like Franklin & Marshall, Army, The Citadel, VMI, Anderson, Guilford, Lynchburg, Lees McCrae, Catawba, Emory & Henry, Bryan Athyn, Mars Hill, Francis Marion, and NC Wesleyan have all expressed interest his way.

One thing is for sure, Ramsey and the Carolina Riptide should be a must-see program all throughout the summer, especially with the skillset that he brings to the table.
