Just in the month of December, Cornish earned some big offers and is now sitting at 15+ offers from programs around the country.

We recently reached out to the junior prospect to check in on his latest recruitment, as he broke down some of his most recent offers along with much more.

Recruit Q&A with 2021 Ike Cornish

PHR: First off, how has this season been going for you in general'

Cornish: “It has been good; this is my first year playing a national schedule.  I thought it would take a longer time to get use to things since I’m with a new school but I’ve been doing well and fitting right in; it is like I’ve been with Legacy for years.  So, it has been good because we are playing well right now.”

PHR: What have you been able to show/ blend in well at Legacy' How has your game been able to fit in'

Cornish: “I’ve been bringing a lot of scoring to the table and bringing a good defensive presence in every game.”

PHR: How would you best describe your game on the court'

Cornish: “I’m a very aggressive scorer and love to stay on the go.”

PHR: How has your recruitment been going for you and what are your thoughts on your most recent offers of VCU, Georgetown, and Xavier'

Cornish: “My recruitment has been going well.  My thoughts on VCU is they have been recruiting me for a long time now but after seeing me play at the Chick-Fil-A Classic, they offered after my play and they have always talked to me a lot and continue to stay in touch.  I really like their coaching staff.

Georgetown has been also recruiting me for a little bit of time now but after Patrick Ewing saw me vs. Our Savior Lutheran when I played, they said: “he is an aggressive scorer and we need that in the 2021 class; he is a flat-out dog” and that is why they offered me.

Xavier saw me against Aspire Academy out of Kentucky and they also said they need an aggressive scorer in the class and they had heavy interest.  Then I went to a visit with my team because we played near Xavier, so they let us use their gym for a shootaround.  They called me over and offered me after giving me a tour of their gym.”

PHR: Which schools have been pushing for you hard, whether they have offered or not'

Cornish: “Xavier, VCU, DePaul, George Washington and the ones that haven’t offered are Maryland, Pittsburgh, La Salle, Temple, Virginia Tech, and Rutgers.”

PHR: “Curious, from the schools that have yet to offer, what have they been saying'

Cornish: “They all are close to offering; some just want me to get on campus and some need to see me again.”

PHR: What visits have you taken already and any future visits planned'

Cornish: Xavier, Winthrop, UMass and Old Dominion (are schools he has visited). Future visits are Maryland, Xavier, and DePaul.”
