Coach K’s Standouts Part 1
No. 21 5’7 ’19 Makayla Kimble (Village Christian, Fayetteville, NC)
Makayla Kimble. Class of 2019 from Village Christian Academy. McKayla is unique because she is fundamentally sound. Very strong solid upper body with the ability to get to the basket anytime she wants to. She is unselfish and always looks to make the right path and the right basketball play. If you are looking for a fast guard that can think the game Makayla is the one. Extremely dangerous on the fast-break GSA scoring threat she can catch and shoot put it in the hole off the dribble and also knows how to come off screens and attack. Mikayla is also a Lockdown Defender one of the best on-ball defenders we saw in Camp thus far all this makes her a top 25 guard in North Carolina for the class of 2019.
No. 45 5’7 ’21 Keonna Bryant (EE Smith Fayetteville, NC)
Keonna has the prototype wing type frame with long arms broad shoulders and big hands. She’s an explosive athlete she excels in transition where she attacks the rim and displays excellent body control. She is a lefty with good range on her jump shot and makes use of the glass in her mid-range game and down in the low post. She is a good size perimeter player with high physical upside and a versatile floor game Keonna is young, but her initial performance has left us all at Phenom Camp wanting to see more.
No. 36 5’10 ’20 Miya Giles Jones (Trinity Christian, Fayetteville, NC)
At 5’10, Miya Jones is a combo wing/guard with good size and a feel for the game. She does a great job pushing the ball on the break with tremendous pace. Also, she will not hesitate to advance the ball with her pinpoint passing Jones has a strong handle. She is long and quick on her feet which creates a nightmare when she is defending you. We love this young lady and look forward to covering her for some time and she is only class 2022.
No. 7 5’3 ’19 Ja-el Miller (Central Cabarrus HS, Concord, NC)
This 543 Dynamo is the real deal. She is fundamentally sound she is an aberration in this day as she is unselfish she is a pass-first throwback point guard. In a camp like this her turnover to assist ratio was five assists to one turnover. Her ball skills are college ready and she has a smooth jump shot out to 20 feet. She is not known much on the recruiting scene but if you are looking for a point guard in the class of 2020 her game has the capabilities to take any team to the next level. Look at this kid two times she can get to the basket and is just as dangerous on a catch-and-shoot situation but scoring is not what we see first when we see her. It’s her leadership floor General coaching talking this young lady is definitely a top 25-point guard in the class of 2020 in North or South Carolina.
