Unsigned Senior Spotlight: 6’2 Mantvydas Jasiunas

The state of North Carolina is blessed with an overabundance of talent. In the North Carolina 2018 class, 60 plus players signed with D1 schools and another 40 plus signed to play at the D2, D3, NAIA or Juco level. Quite impressive numbers! This year, the 2019 class is on the same course to have 100 plus players continue to play at the collegiate level.' In this edition of the unsigned senior spotlight we're going to take a look 6’2 Mantvydas Jasiunas of Rabun Gap School located in Rabun Gap, Georgia, which is located on the North Carolina/Georiga state line, 'who we feel is a scholarship level prospect.

Mantvydas Jasiunas has played an important perimeter role for Rabun Gap this season. Even as Rabuy Gap has ulitized lineups with great size.Jasiunas has provided some scoring from the guard positions, particularly since the start of conference play.' He has averaged 18.0 points in conference play.' This includes a 28 point performance against Asheville School in which he drained 7 triples.' Teams have started to pay him more attention as he has emerged as a threat from deep.' After struggling to take care of the basketball in the first half of the year, Jasiunas has a positive A/TO Ratio in conference play at 3.1 ' For the season, Jasiunas has shot about 78% from the free throw line.' Thus far, he has received some interest from Division 3 schools.' Moving forward, the Eagles will definitely look to Jasiunas to continue to provide a perimeter threat as conference play wears on and the state tournament approaches.

In addition, we were able to watch Jasiunas extensively at our NC Phenom 150 camp late last fall. We were impressed with his hard work ethic on the court, high basketball IQ and overall feel for the game. In our evaluation from the camp, we stated the following.'“He's a point guard prospect with nice size and an intriguing approach to the game. Offensively, Jasiunas looks to create scoring opportunities for his teammates however possible and possesses a deceptive nature about himself. He plays really hard and is willing to do whatever necessary to provide his team with an edge. Jasiunas is a solid defender that does a nice job of moving his feet and eliminating space.”
