The state of North Carolina is blessed with an overabundance of talent. In the North Carolina 2018 class, 60 plus players signed with D1 schools and another 40 plus signed to play at the D2, D3, NAIA or Juco level. Quite impressive numbers! This year, the 2019 class is on the same course to have 100 plus players continue to play at the collegiate level. In our unsigned senior spotlight, we want to take a closer look at 6'10 Julian Steinfeld of Grace Christian High School in Sanford, North Carolina who currently sits at #95 in our rankings and is someone that we strongly feel is a scholarship-worthy player.

Originally from Germany, Steinfeld came to the United States last year and has generated a solid amount of buzz in the process. He possesses legitimate size and utilizes his length extremely well on both sides of the ball. Steinfeld is very skilled and capable of being a focal point within a variety of different offensive settings, given his ability to score from virtually anywhere on the floor. He has soft touch around the basket, which allows him to effortlessly score from either block, but can also stretch the floor and apply scoring pressure from the perimeter. Folks are still somewhat behind on Steinfeld, as his recruitment simply doesn't reflect his on-court abilities. Steinfeld is somewhat wiry, but there's no true knock on his well-rounded skillset or overall approach to the game, which is what makes his lack of recruitment so perplexing. He should hold at least a handful of scholarship offers at this point in time, especially considering that he's a high academic prospect that is only going to become more appealing with additional strength.

We've seen Steinfeld most recently at our National Showcase with his high school team, but we were also fortunate to see him perform with the Carolina Wolves at our CP3 Live, where we stated, 'There is a lot of intrigue surrounding the Wolves' big man and his smooth offensive approach. At 6-foot-10, few guys have displayed a higher level of versatility on offense, especially at his height. Though thin, Steinfeld really understands how to score the ball while playing within the team concept. He is able to take opponents on the block or spot-up from midrange or three-point territory quite effectively.'Steinfeld has only continued to get better since that point and could truly have success as a Division I prospect.
