6'7' Unsigned Senior Jamonty Williams
Wilson (Florence, SC)

Williams has been a player we have had our eye on for a couple of years. He first came to a Phenom Hoops event the summer before his sophomore year and has been a staple at numerous events since. Each time he has come, we have walked away impressed with what Williams has shown us as he has seemed to get better each time out.

Last season the 6'7' forward helped lead Wilson High School (Florence, SC) to a 21-1 record and spot in South Carolina's 4A Lower State Finals. Through that run Williams averaged 10 points, 7 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1 block per game. That team was incredibly balanced as they had numerous guys average in double figures

Williams has great feet to go along with good length and quick-twitch athleticism from the forward position. Defensively is where he really makes his mark during the game, as he is able to slide his feet away from the basket or play vertically around the rim. He runs the floor very well and finishes, facing up, around the basket. Williams is the type of player who goes out on the floor, plays hard, and just gets things accomplished.

As with most of the top players in the state, Williams participated in the South Carolina Top 80. This is an invite-only camp where the top prospects throughout South Carolina come to compete against one another. After his performance at the 2017 SC Top 80 we wrote, 'Williams is a new school big man in every since, he can dribble, pass and shoot it. Throughout camp he battled a cold but still managed a solid performance. The guards took advantage of his pick n pop ability and set him up for a bevy of elbow jumpers. Williams also flashed a polished post game he posses several back – to- the basket moves in the scoring arsenal. Defensively this kid is an animal, Williams prowled the lane and sent back attempted shots with authority. I'm saying it now Williams will be one to watch in SC, his senior year should be big time.'

Currently, Williams carries offers from the likes of Lees McRae, Lander, Francis Marion and Johnson C. Smith. He is one of the most sought after big men for D2 schools across the region.
