6’3 Rabun Gap (GA) point guard Tomas Butkus

Today Tomas Butkus went for 28 points on 7-13 shooting. He shot 40% from the 3-point line and pretty much filled the stat sheet. The point guard had 4 steals, 3 assists and 7 rebounds to go along with the most important stat for a point guard, he got the win.

Butkus has been a regular at the Phenom Hoops Top 80 events and exposure camps and he has regularly stood out among the best. After his last performance in the 2017 NC Top 80 we wrote, 'He's a point guard with truly incredible instincts and vision; he's the guy that takes a team from 'irrelevant' to 'must-watch entertainment'. Butkus is a nice three-level scorer, but usually doesn't showcase his three-point shot unless the context is appropriate, as he would rather pull the ball out and run another two-man set instead of settling for jumpers. It's amazing to watch him consistently carve opposing defenses to shreds; he naturally sees angles and passes that other elite guards simply do not.'

Right now, Butkus has no offers. That is mind blowing really, considering he has been doing this for a few years now. Academically qualified, with the likes of UNC-Greensboro and Citadel in the stands watching here, D1s should be lining up.
