The 17u Tar Heel Silver Bracket championship game featured a very deep Team Winston (NC) group versus a free flowing Renegades (WV) team and this turned out to be a great one. Team Winston got off to a quick start thanks in part to the athletic interior duo of 6'8 Jakob Moore and 6'7 Zack Austin. Their early lead was cut down when Andrew Shull, Grant Bonner and Ethan Clay started to heat up from the perimeter as they went into halftime trailing 31-28. Andrew Shull finished with a game high 22 points for The Renegades. The Renegades hot shooting from their three headed monster was matched by Max Rogers for Team Winston, who proved once again that he has in the gym range finishing with three three-pointers and 15 points. Down the stretch UNSIGNED senior Zack Austin was clutch for his Team Winston crew and scored 12 of his team high 19 points in the final 8 minutes Including a two handed flush to push his team to a 74-71 win over The Renegades and win game MVP.
