Great 15U match-up as both teams came to play from the start. Each team would take turns making runs through the first half leading to a 35-35 tie at the half. The Riptide would open up a small lead early in the 2nd half but Ground Work would not go away. This one would come down to the wire with Riptide getting the win as time expired. Player notes are as follows:
Jonah Courtney, 6'7 2021 F with Carolina Riptide – Owned the lane in this one going for 15 first half points. Does not try to do too much, just does his job inside and makes the ones he is supposed to make. Gets good position and fights on the glass and on D as well. Good weekend for the young big.
Brady Rankin, 6' 2021 G with Ground Work – Impressive showing from him this weekend. Showed ability to hit from beyond the arch as well as the toughness to go inside and attack the lane. Will have periods where he disappears in the game but when playing with energy he shines.
KJ Kernan, 5'11 2021 G with Ground Work – Spot up shooter hit several big shots in this one. When given time he can hurt you from deep. Would love to see more from him than just catch and shoot game going forward. Needs to develop rest of his game.
